Everyone at Q1Care would like to wish you a Happy New Year!
What are your new year resolutions? Most resolutions are quite selfish aren’t they? Lose weight, save money, exercise more.
What about making your resolution for 2017 about others.
What a difference we could make if we were all more considerate of those around us – especially our elderly relatives and members of our community!
Could you commit to having a cup of tea once in a while with your neigbhour who lives alone? How about the lady over the road who goes for a walk every day at the same time. Could you offer to join him on Saturday morning?
What about your own family? Is someone you love living alone, are they lonely? Seeking help for family can be a tough decision, and one that many of us put on our rolling to do list but taking action and finding the care your loved one needs will benefit you and them.
Loneliness is a bigger problem than simply an emotional experience. Research shows that loneliness and social isolation are harmful to our health: lacking social connections is a comparable risk factor for early death as smoking 15 cigarettes a day.
Let’s all resolve to be more caring in 2017….what a difference we could make!
