The Guardian shared a thought provoking article entitled “Why don’t we care about older people as much as children?” this week.
What a good question!
The article sheds light on this issue by saying perhaps human instinct is more inclined to ‘care’ for the young. There are more charities aimed at improving the lives of children in both the developed and the developing world and whilst no one would suggest this care and attention is wrong….what about our elders?
We are an aging population. Sixty is being mooted as the new 40 so can we afford to ignore older people? Absolutely not.
In my opinion it is wrong to ignore anyone’s needs, no matter their age or circumstance. A thought provoking read indeed, please do take 5 minutes to click the link below and share your thoughts.
