“People benefitted from a staff team that were happy and well supported in their work. Staff told us they enjoyed working for the service. They were confident they could take any concerns to the management and would be taken seriously. They were certain managers would take action where appropriate. Staff members told us their management team was accessible and approachable and dealt effectively with any concerns they raised. They also said they would feel confident about reporting any concerns or poor practice. Staff told us the manager was open with them and always communicated what was happening at the service and with the people they support.”

Care Coordinator

Q1Care Limited is now seeking an experienced Care Coordinator to join our team, based in Theale, Reading.

The hours are 20 hours per week based in the office plus additional care work when required. £10.50 per hour.

We are a bespoke provider of at home support to private clients. Our founder has a previous nursing career spanning 15 years and is very proud of the reputation amongst the local community as well as the great benefits we offer our very dedicated carers. We focus on longer visits ensuring our clients have the time and attention they need. We also believe in building relationships to provide the very best care and support possible, with a GOOD overall rating with the CQC that we are very proud of.

The purpose of the Care Coordinator is to assist the Registered Manager in the aim of the Company in providing a quality service by a team of trustworthy, well trained and reliable Care Workers.

The main task of the care coordinator is the allocation of home care calls to care workers. You will have the responsibility of ensuring that our care delivery is on time, with the right care workers who have the right skills to support each Client.

The care coordinator is in the hub of all the activity, ensuring effective communication between the care workers and Clients at all times.

The care coordinator is responsible for assigning the appropriate care workers to our Clients, and ensure that our Client receives continuity of care by ensuring they have the same care workers visit them – this might be a small team to consider sickness and holiday cover. The care coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the Client knows who their personal care team are. You will need to keep the carers travel time to the minimum, by making the travel routes efficient. This involves efficiently assigning the rotas, using an electronic rostering system.

The care coordinator will be required to undertake and cover care visits as required, including covering staff absence.

The post holder will report directly to the Registered Manager and will also be an excellent mentor and provide support to the Field Coordinator to encourage their personal and professional growth. The care coordinator will also ensure that electronic records of care workers are up to date.

The care coordinator will also be required to book home care assessments with potential new Clients, liaising with the Client Liaison Coordinator. In the absence of the Client Liaison Coordinator, the care coordinator will attend the home care assessments, initial visits and introducing key carers.

The care coordinator will also participate in the on call rota and take responsibility for the on call phone as part of the senior team.

The postholder will be expected to deputise for the Registered Manager whilst on leave or when on prolonged absence.

Applicants should ideally have a minimum of a year’s experience as a Coordinator rostering staff working in the Domiciliary care sector and experience as a supervisor or senior care worker or other role within a care providing organisation. Administrative experience is desirable. A full driving licence is required and minimum NVQ level 3.

The successful applicant will have genuine care, compassion and respect for others as well as excellent communication, time management, planning and organisational skills. Additionally, be able to cope with pressure and change.
