A note from our founder, Melanie Meads

“I had the honour of spending a day with the Ambulance service yesterday and  I am in awe of how hard our paramedics work. Something that stood out to me, was that out of the 8 people we went to see, 6 had called 999 due to social care issues. Wonderful, elderly people who didn’t have care in place that could have prevented their need to call 999. From falls, to loneliness, fear of what minor symptoms might mean.

This is the gap that the care Hub is trying to fill. By offering social prescriptions to the elderly and vulnerable we can try to play a small part in reducing the need for 999 calls. People would have the care they need, they would know who to call if they felt lonely.”
